Trish has recently moved back to her roots in Halifax after teaching music and working as a school counselor in the American International Schools in China and India for the past 17 years. It was in India that Trish's love for Yoga blossomed and became her lifestyle, on and off the mat. Trish has studied with various teachers internationally and in Canada, and has completed her multi-style RYT 200 certification, and most recently her RCYT 95 which has wonderfully integrated Trish’s love for children and yoga. Trish has presented workshops on various topics, such as Working Through Transitions, Anger Management, Study Skills, Adolescent Development and Stress Management. She has also taken classes in meditation and chanting while in India, and has facilitated chanting workshops.
Trish believes that the integration of yoga and mindfulness goes hand in hand. Both allow for the growth and awareness of each individual, as expressed in the quote from the Bhagavad Gita,“ Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self”. ‘Yoga for Kids’ is Trish’s passion…sharing fun, joy, and laughter with children, together through asanas, song, games and stories.
