“Continuing to come back to the practice of Yoga allows us to come face to face with the power and wisdom of our bodies. We can use the awareness illuminated on our mats and turn it into life changing truth in action.”
What started off as a search for ways to take care of physical health and find balance has evolved into a daily practice of yoga – for the Body, Mind and Spirit on and off the mat for Amy. Dedicated to developing her personal and professional practice, Amy is trained as a Hatha Vinyasa teacher and is currently completing her 500hr Certified Yoga Teacher training at Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio in Halifax. Amy has also trained in Trauma Sensitive yoga with leading trauma experts Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and his yoga team from the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. Amy works to ensure that her classes are trauma informed and holds a safe space for a wide variety of human experiences.
Amy is a Registered Counselling Therapist and Certified Yoga Therapist who use Embodied Mindfulness Therapy - a psycho-emotional practice rooted in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. This approach supports individuals to become present to their physical, emotional and spiritual experiences and take steps toward leading more inspired lives.
